Gen 1, Chapter 5 - Amazing Grace

After freaking out for a bit, Romeo finally saw sense to call us a taxi to take us to the hospital.

It was the worst car ride of my life. I was experiencing a level of pain I had never felt before. We eventually reached the hospital though, and just in time too.

It wasn't a particulary difficult labour, but it hurt so bloody much. It as completely worth it however, when I saw the little angel in my arms.
Little Gracie Hope was born on a beautiful, starry Saturday night, and weighed a healthy 6oz, 7lb.

It was too early to tell whose eye or hair colour she'd have, but she definately had her father's tanned Spanish skin. When we got home, I  was shattered, but all I wanted to do was hold Grace and marvel at her. This was the happiest moment of my life so far, (you know me - I cried!) and it was definately Romeo's too. He made me see sense though ans I put our little beauty to rest, before we went to sleep ourselves.

It was around 2am when we had crying from the nursery. I was going to get up when Romeo got up himself and said to me "Go back to sleep Violet. I'll see to Gracie, you've done enough hard work today!" He chuckled. I smiled.
Romeo fed and changed her, and I could faintly hear him singing her a lullaby, his beautiful, soft voice sending me back to sleep too!

5 months had past since that extraordinary day. Romeo was really proving to be a great dad. You could see how much he loved her.

I really loved her too. My heart selled up everytime I looked at her, or touched her, everytime she grabbed my little finger with her tiny fist. I couldn't believe I had created such an exquistite human being.

One day Romeo insisted that we take a break, go to the beach or something. It was a beautiful day so I agreed. We left Gracie with a babysitter and made our way down there.
To prove that he was learning how to cook he made us some hotdogs on the grill. They did look pretty good!

And then Romeo, ever the romantic, started to serenade me! I was shocked in a good way. It was the most romantic thing anyone had ever done for me!

Once his little song was finished, he put his guitar away and got down on one knee!
"Oh my God, oh my God" were the thoughts in my head.

He brought out a blue velvet box and started a heartfelt speech. "Violet, ever since I met you, you have made me the happiest man on this planet. You really don't understand how much I love you. I would walk a thousand miles on broken glass for you, I would take a bullet for you. I want to grow old with you, and see our daughter grow up and have her own family. And that's why I'm here, like this, today. Violet Hope, will you marry me?"

My eyes welled up. Romeo was and always will be the man I wanted to be with.
"Yes, yes, a million times yes!" I replied.

Romeo smiled the biggest, most happiest smile ever. He placed the beautiful, shining ring on my finger. I leapt into his arms and hugged him and hugged him.

We met on this beach, and now we were engaged on this beach. How romantic <3
I don't think I got get any happier, I really don't.

Gen 1, Chapter 4 - Me and The Bump

As shocked as I was, I was still delighted that I was pregnant. All I had ever wanted was to start a family with a man I loved, and now it was happening for me. To have a life growing inside of me was just the most amazing experience ever. All I wanted to do was care and nourish for the little life I was carrying. However, I still hadn't told Romeo, but luckily my bump wasn't showing yet.

I met with Morgana for lunch at a cute little Parisian cafe. I needed to share my worries with someone, and I couldn't think of a better person than my best friend.

"Vi, why did you need to talk to me so urgently?"
"Well.. I'm pregnant."
"No way! Congratulations!" Morgana exclaimed. "How did Romeo react?"
I paused. "I.. I haven't told him yet."
"VIOLET! You're carrying HIS BABY! You need to tell him!"
"I know, I know." I sighed. "I'm just a bit worried.."

"Worried? Why are you worried hun?" Morgana asked.
"I mean, I've only know him for 4 months or so and now I'm pregnant! I don't want him to get freaked out!"  I confessed.
"Listen to me babe. He loves you so much. You're his life and I know that he would love nothing more than to start a family with you."
That heartfelt speech ended any worries I had. I gave Morgana a great big hug. "Thank you. Thank you for everything."
"No problem Violet. You know I've got your back."

I went home to find Romeo to tell him the good news. I found him with his head in a cooking book! (He didn't break his promise! I love this guy!)

"Hey honey." I called as I walked in our house.
"Well hello there gorgeous!" he looked up at me from the book and smiled.
"Can I talk to you? I've got something I need to tell you."
Romeo looked at me, concerned. "Of course. What's the matter babe?"
"I got my results back from the doctor and I'm not ill.. I'm pregnant!"

"Oh my God." He seemed speechless. It could go either way at this point. "That's fantastic!"

I was so relieved, and so happy.
"I couldn't think of a better woman that I could start a family with. I will be the best dad ever, I promise." Romeo said.
"I know you will. I love you."
"I love you more. More than you could ever love me."

Throughout the whole pregnancy Romeo cared for me and the Bump will such devotion and dedication. He was always talking and feeling my tummy,

making me food when I had cravings at 3am in the morning (I had a lot of cheese-based cravings for a reason!), and he even took time off work to look after me.
We both bought pregnancy books so we would know what to expect. The books were pretty.. graphic, but it was essential we read them.

Each day my bump was getting bigger and bigger. I found it such an exhilarating experience. Romeo still couldn't believe it!

The due date was getting very near. Then one night, as I was playing chess on the computer when I shot of pain stabbed me.
"Oh no." I said.
"Violet.. Violet what's the matter?" Romeo came over to see what was going on.

I could only manage one simple sentence. "I think my water just broke."

Gen 1, Chapter 3 - Expect the unexpected

My life is great at the moment, seriously. I've been living with my lovely, gorgeous sweetheart of a boyfriend for 3 months now, and I'm speeding up the medical career. I earned a promotion to a Paramedic (and I loved the uniform!)

And now I'm a Medical Intern, which means I get a more hands-on approach at the hospital, and it also means that I get my own medical beeper! Sure, it's pretty annoying when it goes off when I'm sleeping, but at least I'm one step closer to becoming a doctor!

Romeo's career is going from strength to strength too - he's now a band manager! The money's still not great for either of us, but at least we have some money to fall back on if we need to.

I attempted to make waffles today, since neither Romeo and I can cook and we just end up living on cereal and canned soup! Let's just say my attempt didn't go too well.. but I was hungry so I ate it.

I made a note to myself to learn how to cook. Romeo said he would try to learn too. He avoided my burnt waffles though and went straight for the cereal. *rolls eyes*

A few hours later, I started to think eating my waffles was a bad idea. I began to get awfully sick, vomiting again and again.

I felt horrible. I don't get ill usually so this was especially harder for me. As much as I hated to, I called up work to take a couple of days off. I also rang the doctor, who booked me an appontment for the next day.

Romeo was such a darling though. During my illness, he did all the housework, did the food shopping and still went to work to keep our income up.
I am truly the luckiest girl on earth to have him, I really am.

After a sleepless night, I went to the doctor's. I laid down on the couch and she examined me. I told her about the burnt waffle situation but she said she doubted it was that.

After a while in the waiting room, the doctor came to get me to give me my diagnosis.

Fortunately, after examining your results, I can confirm you're not ill". the Doc said.
"Oh." I paused. "Why do I keep throwing up then?"

"Have you considered that you may be pregnant?"

My hand flew to my mouth. I was not expecting THAT.

Gen 1, Chapter 2 - Head over heels

One day, I decided to go down to the beach for a jog. As I took a break, I looked out to the sea, and reflected on my first week in my new hometown. I suddenly burst into tears, surprising myself and everyone around me I think.

While I was mid-sob, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see that it was the guy! The guy with the stunning green eyes and the amazing guitar skills! I reminded mysself to keep breathing.
"Are you alright?" he asked me in a soft, beautiful voice, his eyes wide with concern.

"Oh, don't worry about me," I said, "I'm crying because I'm happy. I have the over-emotional trait." I rolled my eyes. The guy laughed. After a slight pause, he began to talk again. "I know this is very sudden, but I was wondering if you'd like to go to the bistro with me tomorrow night. I'd like to get to know you a bit better." He seemed shy when he asked me this, and I thought it was so sweet.

My dreams were coming true. "I'd love to." I replied. The smile on my face could not get any bigger. "But I don't even know your name..?"
"How silly of me," he said. "My name's Romeo. Romeo Garcias." It was like it was meant to be. We could have our own Romeo and Juilet story, me being Juilet of course.
I was going to tell him my name, when he stopped me. "Oh I know your name already." he smiled cheekily. "So I'll meet you at 6, tomorrow night?"
I nodded.
"It's a date then." and he left.

I'm just glad I remembered how to breathe.

Soon before the date was going to start, I was just making sure that I looked perfect.

The date was amazing. I learnt a lot about Romeo. I found out that he was half-Spanish hence his surname, and that he had alays wanted to be a musician. I told him about my hopes and my dreams. Romeo made me laugh, and he made me blush, but he was perfect.

Towards the end of the date, things got a bit more.. romantic.
I didn't mind as I felt so comfortable with him. We flirted a bit..

and held hands for a bit...

and then.. he kissed me! HE KISSED ME! I blocked out everything apart from him, nothing but him. I think I almost died. As a hopeless romantic, this was all I had ever dreamed of.

And then he kissed me some more..

It was starting to get a bit crowded at the bistro, so we proceeded to go back to my place.

I knew this day would come and I was very nervous, but Romeo, being the perfect gentleman, eased my worries. And that was it.. I had fell in love and I know Romeo had  too. A feeling of euphoria was spreading through my body.

He moved in with me soon after. He too was amazed with my beautiful house. Some might of said we were moving way too fast, but Romeo was The One, my soulmate, and he told me that too. I was head over heels in love.
